The Correct Mindset for Fitness
Whether you want to lose 20 pounds or want to get toned and look good in summer clothes, CONGRATULATIONS! You are on the road to health and fitness. Well, many people want to be fit, but many more failed. I am here to tell you the correct mindset for fitness so that you can be succeeded in achieving your goal!
1. Be patient and be consistent
There is no quick fix in fitness. If you want to lose 10 pounds in just 1 week, yes, you definitely can. However, what you lost is just the water weight. It will bounce back quickly, Think about it, how can the fat you gained in all those years be lost in just a few days? Do what you can, stick to it and be patient, I can guarantee that the result will then come.
2. Focus on actions, not the result
Here I don't mean you should not have a goal. A specific and realistic goal is the best motivation for you to stick to your plan. However, everybody is unique. Doing the same exercise and eating the same diet, some may lose weight faster than others. Don't be frustrated when your result does not come(I mean, not yet come) or is slower then the others. You should focus on changes in diet and exercise. If you eat healthily and exercise regularly, the result will definitely come.
3. Don't go too far on dieting
They say fitness is compose of 30% of exercise and 70% of diet. You are what you eat. A good diet is vital for fitness. However, you should never go too far. Don't eat too few calories or your body will end up in starvation mode which means it will absorb everything you eat and store fat more easily. Thinking of cutting away chocolate, cookies, ice cream and pizza from your diet? Though they may not do any good to your body, a moderate consumption of the food you like can make you fitness journey go further. If you restrict yourself too much, you will crave more easily and end up in binge eating. A good diet should provide the right and enough nutrients to nourish your body. An occasional treat is for awarding your hard work. The key point is to eat the right portion.
4. See it as a lifestyle change
Many people fail to commit as they create a plan as if it is a punishment to themselves. They don't like exercise but they have to. They don't like the food they eat but they have to. Tell yourself, you are not just losing the stubborn fat on your body. You are living a healthy life. Imagine yourself as if you are a guy who is already fit and want to maintain it forever. What will you do? You will feel good working out regularly and eat nourishing food. Find a kind of exercise you love, it maybe yoga, dancing, jogging, hiking, and then do it regularly. Choose delicious and yet nutritious food. Create your own healthy lifestyle.
5. Practise self love
Your result will not appear in one day. Though you are not yet having the ideal body you want, this shouldn't be the reason for you to hate your body or be shame on yourself. Be proud of yourself as you are taking actions to achieve your goal. Love yourself for working so hard along the way. I admire all the people who workout and eat healthy food because they take actions to pursue what they want. Not only will this bring them a better body image, but they will also be healthier and happier.
